Every time I update my iTunes software, I get the error -15000 when I try to connect to the remote speakers attached to my Airport Express. It’s frustrating, and it’s hard to find an actual solution in forums. This is not my normal type of posting, but as this information is hard to locate, I thought I’d post the solution that has worked for me! Keep in mind that I run Windows Vista on my Sony laptop.
Open the “Control Panel.”
Under “Security” click on “Allow a program through Windows Firewall.”
A new window will appear. Near the bottom middle, click on “Add port.”
Under name, type in “iTunes” – I don’t think the name really matters but this is what I have been doing, and it has worked.
Under port number, enter 6002.
Finally, make sure you choose “UDP” instead of “TCP”.
Click OK. Try connecting to your remote speakers in iTunes.
